As a Support Worker, the role requires you to provide supervision and support to our Service Users. To promote recovery in all Pukeko Blue Ltd community homes with Service Users who live with an intellectual disability, mental health or dual diagnosis. To work towards creating and maintaining a home environment, relationships and the lifestyle choice of each Service User.   We offer rates of pay between $19.80 and $24.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Applicants must have the following:

  • A full, current New Zealand drivers licence.
  • The flexibility to work rotational rostered shifts.
  • New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (preferable but not essential).
  • NZQA Health & Wellbeing on Level 3 or relevant qualification.
  • The ability to pass and maintain Medication Competency Assessments.
  • The ability to work in New Zealand for any employer for at least 12 months.

The skills required for these positions are:

  • The ability to work alongside a diverse range of people with different support needs.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively to meet the needs of the Service Users.
  • The ability to pass and maintain Medication Competency Assessments.
  • To have strong boundaries.

Some of the key responsibilities for these positions are:

  • Following and adhering to Service User care plans and behaviour crisis risk plans.
  • Supporting and encouraging Service Users in gathering information to make informed choices.
  • Implementing, developing and reviewing individual social and recreational wellbeing plans.
  • Administering medication according to policy and procedure.

Applicants must have the following:

  • A current Practicing Certificate.
  • A full, current New Zealand drivers licence.
  • New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency

The requirements for these positions are:

  • Two years clinical, or lived experience – mental health and addiction experience an advantage.
  • Ability to manage the role autonomously.
  • Excellent risk assessment skills.
  • The ability to work day shifts on a social roster – plus on-call.
  • Capable of planning and facilitating individualised care.
  • Confident in own ability to respond rapidly to deteriorating presentations of acute, mental or physical health.
  • Open to new and challenging ideas to support recovery and best quality of life.
  • Ability to utilise the full spectrum of nursing skills and interventions.
  • Natural leader with the ability to educate and guide support staff.

 As an Enrolled Nurse your duties would includbut are not limited to:

 

  • Supporting Service Users in the mental health service by maintaining a high quality of life, a quality home life and encouraging full participation in all aspects of daily living.
  • Providing input into care plans and behaviour management plans.
  • Organising medical appointments and document outcomes.
  • Assisting with training staff one on one in houses.
  • Contributing to Policy and Procedure reviews, planning activities and quality initiatives.
