Mental Health Support Workers
Full Time Night Shift
Part Time Afternoon Shift (32 hours)
Casual Holiday/Sick Leave Cover

For all positions, applicants must have the following:

  • A full, current New Zealand drivers licence.
  • Six months experience in mental health in New Zealand.
  • The flexibility to work rotational rostered shifts.
  • A New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (preferable but not essential).
  • NZQA Mental Health & Addiction Level 4 or relevant qualification (preferable but not essential) or willingness to engage/obtain.

The skills required for this position are:

  • The ability to work alongside a diverse range of people with different support needs.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively to meet the needs of the Service Users.

Some of the key responsibilities for these positions include:

  • Following and adhering to Service User care plans and behaviour crisis risk plans.
  • Supporting and encouraging Service Users in gathering information to make informed choices.
  • Implementing, developing and reviewing individual social and recreational wellbeing plans.
  • Administering medication according to policy and procedure.

An Enrolled Nurse to work
in Mental Health

For this position, applicants must have the following:

  • A current Practicing Certificate.
  • A full, current New Zealand drivers licence.
  • The flexibility to work rotational rostered shifts.
  • A New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (preferable but not essential).

The skills required for this position are:

  • The ability to work alongside a diverse range of people with different support needs.
  • The ability to work within your Scope of Practice.
  • The ability to engage in personal cares when required.
  • The willingness to take on day-to-day tasks as required.
  • Being reliable and dependable in working rostered shifts.
  • A willingness to increase your skills.

As an Enrolled Nurse your duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting Service Users in the mental health service by maintaining a high quality of life, a quality home life and encouraging full participation in all aspects of daily living.
  • Providing input into care plans and behaviour management plans.
  • Organising medical appointments and document outcomes.
  • Assisting with training staff one on one in houses.
  • Contributing to Policy and Procedure reviews, planning activities and quality initiatives.
